    The basic idea here is to use the Least Common Denominator to "clear out the denominators" in the original equation. 

    Once the denominators have been removed,  we can solve the resulting equation. 

    Important warning:  Removing a variable denominator from an equation may introduce "false solutions." 

    So we must always check our answers in the original equation. 

    In particular, we must beware of values which make any denominator equal zero.
