Graphing Equations
Introduction
Explanation

Objectives

Examples

In this section we will learn the fundamental skills needed to draw the "pictures," called "graphs" which correspond to many of the equations that we have solved so far.

We will first construct a drawing board, called the "Cartesian Coordinate System."

We want to be able to draw and describe graphs of equations, so that we can

    • identify special points, called "intercepts"
    • identify basic shapes via "symmetry"

We also want to be able to perform certain computations having to do with measurement so that we can

    • compute distances between points
    • locate the midpoint of a segment
