Two additional important notational devices are "exponents" and "radicals."

Using exponents and radicals will allow us to work with expressions which involve repeated multiplication and/or division.

In fact, we will see how radicals and exponents can be used 
to "undo" each other.

Once again, our two main goals will be to combine and to 
simplify such expressions.

Another goal will be to convert an expression from radical 
to exponent form or vice versa.

The key to each goal will be learning the standard rules which 
govern exponents.
